Sample a Scottish supper

It doesn’t matter if you are Scottish through and through or once visited Edinburgh for the day, Burn’s Night is still worth celebrating.

If you don’t know your neeps from your tatties, tonight is the perfect excuse to find out and try some traditional Scottish fare.

Every year, Scotland celebrates the anniversary of the birth of her national poet. Traditionally haggis, neeps and tatties (mashed turnips or swedes and potatoes) are served at Burns Suppers with a wee dram (or two) of whisky.

Mash your potatoes and swedes with a generous knob or butter and a splash of milk and season well.

As for your haggis, unless you’re feeling very adventurous, it’s probably best to buy it from a good butcher.
